CNBC's Jim Cramer stated Friday he fears that the coronavirus-driven halt within the financial system may depart the U.S. with solely three retailers after the disaster ends.
"If we come out of this sooner, then different, small companies can open. If we come out of this later, there are going to be three retailers on this nation," the "Mad Cash" host stated. "There's going to be Amazon. There's going to be Walmart. And there is going to be Costco."
"That's one thing that the federal government can not afford to have occur," he stated on "Squawk on the Avenue."
Cramer contemplated the potential for the already dominant Amazon-Walmart-Costco trifecta being the one video games on the town. "If it comes out that these are the three, are you able to think about what it means for this nation to simply have three retailers?"
