WASHINGTON The Pentagon will launch $882 million in withheld funds to Boeing in an effort to mitigate the monetary pressure of the coronavirus outbreak on the protection contractor.
The U.S. Air Drive and Boeing negotiated the discharge of funds, which have been held again because of excellent flaws with the KC-46 aerial refueling tanker.
"When COVID-19 hit clearly issues modified for your complete protection industrial base," Will Roper, assistant secretary of the Air Drive for acquisition, expertise and logistics, informed Pentagon reporters Thursday by way of teleconference.
"Money movement is every thing proper now, liquidity is every thing, and we have created insurance policies within the Division of the Air Drive to get as a lot money out of our palms and to business as attainable ... The KC-46 isn't any exception," he added.
