Two FCA plant employees with COVID-19 have died, UAW says



DETROIT Two Fiat Chrysler Vehicles manufacturing facility workers who examined optimistic for COVID-19 have died, a UAW spokesperson mentioned Tuesday. They're the primary U.S. auto plant employees identified to have died after contracting the virus.

One of many workers labored at FCA's Ram pickup plant in Sterling Heights, Mich. The opposite labored at a plant in Kokomo, Ind.

It was unclear when the employees died.

The UAW spokesman didn't have any details about the individuals and was unable to verify whether or not they have been the identical two employees who have been already identified to have examined optimistic earlier this month on the Sterling Heights Meeting Plant and the Kokomo Transmission plant. An FCA spokeswoman, citing privateness causes, did not have any data to share.

"I wish to prolong honest sympathies from myself and your entire Worldwide Govt Board for the households of two of our members ... who've misplaced their lives to this virus," UAW President Rory Gamble mentioned in a press release. "This can be a horrible tragedy...
