WASHINGTON  The variety of active-duty U.S. service members who've examined optimistic for the coronavirus almost doubled over the weekend from 67 confirmed circumstances on Friday to 133 circumstances on Monday, based on the most recent figures offered by the Pentagon.

On Monday, the Pentagon reported a complete of 243 recognized circumstances of coronavirus throughout the Division of Protection. Of the 243 circumstances, 133 are active-duty army, 44 are civilians, 35 dependents and 31 contractors. 

Over the weekend, the DOD confirmed {that a} contractor, who labored on the Protection Safety Cooperation Company, died on Saturday after testing optimistic for the coronavirus. That is the primary reported loss of life from the virus throughout the Division of Protection.

The virus has contaminated greater than 367,400 worldwide, although many have recovered. Within the U.S. greater than 41,500 circumstances have been reported thus far.
