Volkswagen to droop manufacturing in Europe

German carmaker Volkswagen has introduced it's making ready to briefly shut down most of its European crops within the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Chatting with reporters on Tuesday, Chief Government Herbert Diess stated the corporate would shut down manufacturing at factories operated by the group's manufacturers "within the close to future," with most European crops set to droop work for at the very least two weeks.

Manufacturing at Volkswagen crops in Spain, Slovakia and Italy would all be halted earlier than the tip of the week, Diess added.

It comes shortly after the world's largest carmaker by gross sales warned 2020 can be a "very tough yr," with the coronavirus outbreak posing "unknown operational and monetary challenges."

As of Tuesday, greater than 182,000 instances of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide, based on information compiled by Johns Hopkins College, with 7,155 deaths.
